With the holidays around the corner, it’s a great time to think about next year’s trends. Video has been a highly successful medium in marketing and advertising.

Short-form video has been big in the past several years. Videos ranging from 15 to 45 seconds with gripping hooks and powerful calls-to-action do incredibly well in the current advertising climate. On the longer side, videos ranging from 30 seconds to 2 minutes can tell a story while maintaining interest.

Videos with authentic, engaging stories and payoff often get traction. Walking through product fabrication, getting customer/employee testimonials, and providing interesting facts are all fun content ideas.

Tips for creating optimized & engaging videos:

  • Use good titles, descriptions, and keywords.
  • Have strong metadata (video size/shape, video quality, audio quality).
  • Provide captions and compelling visuals—there’s a trend of people watching videos without sound, plus it helps with accessibility!
  • Focus on one topic per short-form video.
  • Always have a solid call-to-action.
  • It doesn’t have to be perfect; use your smartphone and try it this week!

With the rise of AI, integrating it into video marketing is becoming increasingly common. It isn’t a bad idea to consider how AI might be useful in video marketing.

AI can help with:

  • Drafting scripts.
  • Creating captions.
  • Brainstorming ideas for B-roll.
  • Streamlining editing.
  • Cleaning up video/audio errors.

It is important to still include some human elements. Using AI in video marketing should balance having a human touch to make the video creation process smoother. Letting AI take complete control can lead to an “uncanny valley” effect that might not appeal to every consumer. Remember, people like authentic videos and stories.

Clean Up Your Brand.

An established business knows its brand. However, they may not always be consistent or think to clean up their brand regularly. Branding is your identity, and typically, it consists of logos, business colors, fonts, mission/purpose, values, culture, and voice. As companies evolve, they sometimes struggle with keeping their branding updated across various platforms. Cleaning up your brand doesn’t necessarily mean a full overhaul. It’s best to ask, “What is my target audience and what should our brand represent?“ When there are misalignments, it’s time to step back and make some updates. Maintaining brand equity—how your company is perceived and valued—is key to your relevance and profitability. Slowly shifting and updating your branding as needed can help your company align more smoothly with its brand. Consistency across online platforms (social media and websites) is a great place to start. Go to your website or socials, then check for outdated pages, old profiles, old messaging, or missing links, and clean them out. Use your old messaging as a blueprint and make it new, refreshed, and accurate. Tighten up your branding and create an up-to-date company style guide. Ensure it contains correct fonts, your brand colors, and how to use your company’s logo. Be
